MERC Partners teams with the British Irish Chamber of Commerce for Greater Dublin’s Greater Than Ever (#GDGTE) Initiative
The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr launched his Greater Dublin’s Greater Than Ever #GDGTE initiative on Wednesday 11 January in the Oak Room of Dublin’s Mansion House. Minister for Financial Services, Eoghan Murphy T.D. was also in attendance and spoke at the launch.
MERC Partners is honoured to participate in this instrumental initiative which aims to present the great case for investing in the Greater Dublin Region. Ruth Curran, Managing Partner of MERC Partners highlights what we have to offer to inward investor businesses looking to invest and establish an assured EU base.
It has been facilitated by the British Irish Chamber of Commerce who produced both a short promotional video and presentation brochure to promote the project. Download the brochure here.
The accompanying brochure presents key facts relating to the attractiveness of Dublin for investment covering six key areas of financial services and regulation; infrastructure; access; skills and workforce; education and research; and as a location for startups and entrepreneurs.
Speaking ahead of the launch, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr said:
“For those companies that need to maintain an EU base post-Brexit, Dublin offers a great solution. Post-Brexit, Dublin will be the only English-speaking capital remaining in the EU. We have a highly-educated, skilled and enthusiastic workforce that has already attracted many of the world’s top companies to set-up here.
“In addition to this we are investing in the infrastructure that will be needed to support companies looking to establish a base in Dublin. The Dublin City Development Plan (2016-2022) will see many more houses, apartments, hotels and offices coming on stream, in addition to the significant development that is already underway.”
The Greater Dublin’s Greater Than Ever initiative was started by Dublin’s Lord Mayor Brendan Carr as part of his Greater Dublin Region Brexit Taskforce. This Taskforce has brought together business and civic representation from across the greater Dublin region with the aim of setting out the Dublin Region’s merits to inward investor businesses and to support Dublin Region businesses to prosper in the UK and other export markets.
