Headquartered in Ireland, our client’s business has grown substantially over the last three decades and it is now the leading supplier in its product categories to the UK / Ireland construction industry. Serving its customer-base from two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants (one in Ireland, one in the UK), our client employs approximately 300 people, and offers a complete solution encompassing design, manufacture and installation.

Our client now wishes to appoint an ‘Operations & Construction Director’ to guide and manage the full spectrum of manufacturing operations and construction site activities across its business in Ireland and the UK.  

Ideally, the appointed person will also have the career ambition, the General Management calibre, the client relationship skills as well as the drive and commercial acumen that are required to succeed the incumbent Managing Director in the near to medium term future.

As a qualified engineer and a highly-accomplished construction industry professional (both in technical terms and commercial terms), the ‘Operations & Construction Director’ will develop, manage and motivate the production, project management and construction teams across Ireland and the UK.

The appointee will possess a fully-rounded construction industry senior management skill-set having previously spearheaded the planning and successful delivery of multiple large-scale, multi-disciplinary construction contracts for a main contractor, or possibly having worked at the most senior operations level for a substantial supplier of highly-technical and high-value bespoke building materials. Given the relative importance of the UK market, knowledge and experience of the UK construction sector would be a plus.

Candidates who have excelled in a Regional Construction Director or Contracts Director capacity for a major UK/Ireland construction firm will be of particular interest, but accomplished candidates coming from bespoke materials manufacturers where complex site-level installation is required will also be of potential interest.
